"Bori and Jaye were there for me during a difficult high-risk pregnancy and a a 48-hour labor and c-section delivery with Bori
by my side during the entire time asking nurses questions and offering pain-relieving and coping solutions such as heating blankets, breathing technique and position changes. I Jaye and Bori during my third trimester, just after hospitalization for pain my OBGYN ignored for over a month. They were kind, gentle, listened to me and encouraged and gave me the tools to me listen to my body and then eventually to baby too. I felt more informed and empowered to tune in and trust my instincts. It was also helpful to know that I could always follow up with questions and have the support I needed given their wealth of information, tools, and professional network. As first time parents, my husband and I learned how to swaddle, understand the baby's different cues, shortcuts for storing the breast pump easily etc.

At about 3 months I noticed our baby was taking increasingly longer to finish a bottle and unfortunately, I had developed mastitis and eventually a very very painful abscess. Completely ignored by my OBGYN and pushed by everyone in my circle to "just quit" trying to nurse and provide the oversupply of milk I had in order to save myself the pain. Tearfully, I called Jaye in confidence and for the first time on this issue felt heard and respected for my decision to continue nursing- instead of alone and completely without possible solutions to what had been intense month's-long pain. She connected me to an acquaintance of a colleague and this CLC diagnosed tongue tie and provided insurance-covered professionals who could help BEFORE even arriving to our home, based on growth charts and my description of the last couple of months. Within a month my mastitis/abscess was healed and baby's lip and tongue ties were resolved- it turns out these issues often lead to mastitis in mom- I was grateful to have a name and reason for all of the physical pain and stress and understand how to get help for baby and myself. Hiring this team was the best decision and I know we were much better off for having them on our team"

“I cannot say enough how helpful Bori and Jaye were during and after the birth as well. This is where we really needed support - we had not learned much about nursing, and found that the hospital did not have a thorough program for setting us up (i.e. our expectations for how hands-on they would be were too high). Bori set us up straight away with introducing Franklin to nursing as soon as we were able to hold him after the c-section; then we learned more about how the breast pump works/how to set up a cadence for pumping the first night we were home with Jaye. We would have been completely lost otherwise! Jaye and Bori were great with getting me prepped for my birth. Since I was pregnant during COVID, I did not have much of a support network to rely on, and doing everything virtual had limits. It was great that they were able to meet in person to go over things with us (COVID compliant, with masks, etc.) and become familiar with what to expect. And again, many thanks for the many replies to my late-night texts to ensure I wasn’t dealing with anything serious! (often times gas, or Braxton Hicks!) This gave me tremendous peace of mind.”
